Step 2: Crack Repair
Before applying an Ultra Surface® Color Flake System, all structural moving cracks should be repaired with the Ultra Surface Epoxy 500. Elastomeric Basecoat and Reinforcement Fabric will not be needed for the Color Flake® System as it is with the polymer concrete applications. Fill joints if desired with Ultra Surface® Epoxy 800 Flexible.

Fill small cracks with Epoxy 500. If necessary mix the Epoxy 500 with #60-90 silica sand.

For small cracks, scrape excess Epoxy off the surface. For large cracks, leave a little Epoxy above the crack. |

For large cracks, allow the Epoxy to dry then grind smooth with the surrounding surface. For small cracks, no grinding will be needed. |

If desired, expansion joints can be filled with Flexible Epoxy 800 to provide a seamless floor. Otherwise the joints can be left open.
