Step 5 - Colorcoating and/or Sealing

Once the texture coat application dries, the next step is to apply a colorcoat and/or clear sealer. Ultra Surface Colorcoat 100 can be applied to acheive a more uniform appearance. It is available in Concrete Gray or 25 standard colors (click here to see color chart). Custom colors are also available. When using colorcoat 100 over the Trowel Knockdown Texture, two coats are generally needed. The first coat can be diluted up to 25% with water and the second coat should be applied with no more than a 10% dilution. For the best results when colorcoating, pigment the Trowel Knockdown material to the same color as the colorcoat being used. Integral colors are available to mix with the polymer concrete mixes in the same color as Colorcoat 100. Once Colorcoat 100 dries, it is recommended to apply one or two coats of Ultra Surface Sealcoat 1000 clear to achieve extra stain resistance against dirt, oil and tire marks, especially on driveways.

The final result is a beautiful textured surface. For extra stain resistance, an Ultra Surface Topcoat Sealer can also be applied.

For more detailed instructions on the Spray-Texture System and other Ultra Surface® Systems, information booklets with step by step pictures are available upon request. Before applying any of the Ultra Surface® Systems we recommend attending one of our 2 day training classes in Las Vegas, NV.
